While
the industry was growing and maturing, the need for a common platform
to co-ordinate policies and activities between the Government and
the Industry emerged. Hence the concept and the first step toward
the creation of the Association in 1978. However, a fully representative
Association came into being only after the formation of the Central
Carpet Industries Association (CCIA) in July 1990.
